PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent eccentric transition of a relay contact by precluding an occurrence where the phase of the AC power given to the relay contact is directed on the specific side. SOLUTION: Voltage obtained through half-wave rectification of the voltage from AC mains is fed to a zero-cross point sensing diode 8 which emits sensing pulses. According to the given pulses, the phases of rising and falling are sensed and fed to a microcomputer 15. The microcomputer 15 calculates the delay time of the timing to drive a relay 16 from the zero-cross point, and pulses for driving the relay are emitted in the opposite phase to the phase of rising or falling, when the relay is driven at the previous timing.
