PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compact image forming device provide with a vertical type paper path and constituted so that a process cartridge is easily loaded and unloaded by constituting the image forming device so that the process cartridge can be loaded in a fixing device in the case that the image forming device is provided with the fixing device which can be slidably moved from a main body by the opening and closing of a cover. SOLUTION: A paper supply part 3a and a paper ejection part 6 are almost vertically arranged in parallel and the process cartridge B and the fixing device 5 are included between them. The fixing device 5 is constituted so that the cartridge B is loaded therein and moved to a loading and unloading position by interlocking with the opening and closing of the armor cover 18. The loading and unloading of the cartridge B is completed by the opening and closing of the cover 18. Besides, the space of a cartridge taking-out path is suppressed to the necessary minimum in the image forming device.
