PURPOSE: A single filament cord for a tire and a radial tire are provided to improve an elongation rate, to save production costs, to enhance an adhesive force with rubber and durability of a cord and to promote the quality and productivity of the tire by preventing rotation caused by a residual stress. CONSTITUTION: A single filament cord is made up of one filament(1) of which section is circular. The filament cord is in a periodical waveform to improve an elongation rate. In addition, the filament cord is produced with carbon steel of 0.50 to 1.50wt% or stainless steel to enhance a corrosion resistant characteristic. Brass or bronze, copper or alloy containing nickel mixed with zinc or brass, either alloy containing cobalt with brass is coated on the surface into 0.01 to 5.0 micrometer to improve the adhesive force with the rubber.
