摘要 The invention concerns a method for coding a mesh generation representing a three-dimensional object (3D), comprising a step which consists in coding the topology of said vertices and a step which consists in coding the position of said vertices, said topology coding step comprising: a) initialising (301) the coding process, comprising the determination of a germ surface and a germ pivot; b) conquering (302) the edges adjacent to the current pivot vertex (31), along a predetermined topological orientation (32); c) selecting (303) a new current pivot vertex, by selecting as pivot vertex a vertex whereof all the edges are marked ( an edge being marked when it has been conquered), or as complete vertex, when such a vertex is accessible, and otherwise the vertex next to the current pivot vertex. The invention also concerns a corresponding decoding method.
