摘要 PURPOSE: A variable precharging circuit is provided to minimize noise generated upon transition by preventing abrupt transition of an output terminal when data is outputted by precharging the voltage of the output terminal with a given voltage before transition of the output terminal. CONSTITUTION: A variable precharging circuit an address transition detection unit(10) for detecting an address transition to generate a detection signal(ATD,15). A decoder(20) receives the output of address input buffers(A1-An) to select a given memory cell(MC) from a memory cell array(30). An output adjustment unit(80) receives the ATD signal(15) from the address transition detection unit(10) to generate adjustment signals(83,81) of an output buffer(50) and an output terminal precharging circuit(70A). A sense amplifier(40) senses/amplifies data of the memory cell selected by the decoder(20). The output buffer(50) controls an output terminal driver circuit(60) depending on the output buffer adjustment signal(83) of data(45) from the sense amplifier(40) and a control signal from the output terminal driver circuit(60). The output terminal driver circuit(60) pulls down or pulls up the potential of the output terminal based on adjustment of the output buffer(50). The output terminal precharge circuit(70A) is controlled by the output terminal precharge signal(81) of the control signals from the output adjustment unit(80) and the potential of the output terminal(65).
