PURPOSE: A symbol combining method and a system for a CDMA(code-division multiple access) system are provided to reduce the amount of buffer by buffering large quantity of data with a single buffer. CONSTITUTION: First, second and third symbol counters(301,302,303) count the output of the first, second and third fingers. An address pointing and managing unit(304) generates an address that manages the position of the first, second and third symbol counters(301,302,303) according to the combination of output values and generates an enabling signal for deinterleaving. A symbol combining buffer(305) combines output of the fingers using the position of the first, second and third symbol counters(301,302,303). A deinterleaver(306) is deinterleaved when one frame is gathered in the symbol combining buffer(305).
