PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance productivity by eliminating waste of materials and to achieve high definition. SOLUTION: A housing member 1 housing a paste in a molten state is placed on a shape member 2 equipped with a body part 2b and a molding part 2c having slits 2a sized to required barrier ribs. A shape member 3 comprising male shape parts 3a to fit into the slits 2a and a base part 3b supporting them is fitted into a recessed part 2d provided on the under side of the molding part 2c. When the shape member 3 vertically slides to form space in upper parts of the slits 2a, the paste is put into the space from the housing member 1. By heating the paste put in, it is solidified to produce barrier ribs. The barrier ribs are transferred onto a substrate.
