PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lift restrictions on the working place or range by switching the operation state of combustion, based on the output from a power generating means thereby eliminating connection with a commercial power supply. SOLUTION: A fan heater 50 is arranged to combust a fuel gas G and a combustion air A and to discharge a hot air H to the outside, and it is provided with a thermoelectric generator 11 for generating electric power utilizing a combustion gas. The thermoelectric generator 1 comprises a high temperature section 11a, located at the upper part of a combustion chamber 4, a low temperature section 11b located on the inner side of an air opening 2, and a thermoelectric element 11c for generating thermoelectromotive force, based on the temperature difference between them and the generated power is delivered to the power supply circuit of a controller 20. The controller 20 is also fed with power from a battery power supply 21, i.e., a primary battery 21a and a secondary battery 21b and is used principally for driving a convection fan 9, and excess power other then this is used for charging the secondary battery 21b. Since connection with a commercial power supply is not required, restrictions on the working place or range can be lifted.
