PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an SDH ring system that can effectively utilize a frequency band of a path and accurately transmit a broadband signal different from an SDH interface series with addition of a minimized function (circuit). SOLUTION: When a signal with a broader frequency band is transmitted by virtually linking a 1st path 51 consisting of paths 51a, 51b corresponding to clockwise and counter clockwise paths in a ring with a 2nd path 52 consisting similarly of paths 52a, 52b, a path link setting circuit 61 consisting of switches SW-1-SW-4, OR circuits OR-1, OR-2 and a synchronization switch control circuit 611 are used to switch changeover switches 59, 60 synchronously with each other thereby simultaneously switching transmission lines.
