PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently evaluate an organic electroluminescent display. SOLUTION: In this device, a constant current is supplied from a drive current generating means 4 to an organic electroluminescent display 1 to drive it. The drive current is superposed with an ac inspection signal from an inspection signal superposing means 5. Drive voltages V1 and V2 and drive currents I1 and I2 are detected by a voltage detecting means 6 and a current detecting means 7 based on the inspection signal. A determination means 8 detects a tilt m=(logI1-logI2)/(logV1-logV2) and evaluates the organic electroluminescent display 1 based on the value of the tilt m.
