PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make easy to understand relation between a histogram and a color table to easily display an image in the desired brightness range by graphically displaying the histogram of the number of picture elements against the respective picture elements brightness of digital image data and a color graph making a color value stored in a color table in a graph on a picture element brightness axis of the same scale. SOLUTION: A color table is stored in a color table memory territory 10. The color table stores a RGB color value (output color) against brightness of a picture element (input brightness) of digital image data. A CPU 3 takes the digital image data converted by an A/D converter 2 and stores in an image memory territory 8, by executing a program stored in a program memory territory 9. This digital image data is converted following to the color value stored in the color table memory territory 10, and the digital image data is displayed by color on a display part 6.
