<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a noise on a display screen at the time of starting a reproduction even if a video tape with a deviated tracking is reproduced. SOLUTION: In the magnetic recording/reproducing device, a video IC4 compares the level of the reproduction signal of SP heads 2a and 2b with that of the reproduction signal of EP heads 3a and 3b, and outputs a comparison signal to an input port 5c of a microcomputer 5 at the time of starting a reproduction in a first mode (for example, SP mode). The microcomputer 5c outputs the reproduction signal of the EP heads 3a and 3b to a display part 6 when the comparison signal indicates that the level of the reproduction signal of the EP heads 3a and 3b is higher, and switches from the reproduction signal of the EP heads 3a and 3b to that of the SP heads 3a and 2b when the comparison signal has changed to a signal indicating that the level of the reproduction signal of the SP heads 2a and 2b is higher for outputting to the display part 6.</p> |
