PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system which can correct a base station reference timing signal without exerting influence on speech quality even during communication. SOLUTION: A base station is equipped with a clock generation part 17 which normally generates a base station reference clock synchronized with a network clock inputted from an exchange through a line and generates the base station reference clock of frequency within a prescribed range for the network clock according to a difference value when receiving a correction indication and a control part 16 which sends an indication to the clock generation part 17 or a base station reference timing generation part 14 according to the difference value between system reference timing and base station reference timing. The base station reference timing signal can gradually be corrected and the continuity of the base station reference timing signal is not spoiled, thus the communication quality is not affected.
