PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit image data of an original size in matching with a size of recording paper prepared by opposite party equipment from a sender to the opposite party equipment and to record an original image, without causing excess blank space to the recording paper when the original size is small. SOLUTION: A composite machine 100 to which application of this image communication equipment is prepared is provided with a nonvolatile memory 31 that stores size information of recording paper prepared by the opposite equipment, an original read means 12 that reads an original image from recording paper of an optional size and outputs image data, an original size detection means 18 that detects the size of the recording paper for the original image and outputs the size information of the original of a sender, and an image processing means 22, that compares the size information of the recording paper of the opposite party equipment with the size information of the original of the sender and applies magnification processing on the original image, when the size of the original is at least smaller than the size of the recording paper. Through such a configuration, the image data that received the magnification processing are transmitted to the opposite party.
