PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminaire capable of preventing from staggering and coping satisfactorily gap formation errors between the ceiling surface and the oversurface of the top plate of luminaire body. SOLUTION: A luminaire 3 is configured, so that its body 5 is mounted with a certain gap D to a ceiling surface 1 by a wiring apparatus 2 installed on the ceiling surface 1, includes a pull switch mounted on the luminaire body 5, which is operated by a pull cord with the heading changed downward by an arm 7 protruding sideways which are approx. alongside the top plate 5a of the luminaire body, and is furnished with an stagger preventing tool 4 located between the ceiling surface 1 on that side of the luminaire body 5 approaching the ceiling surface 1 with application of the pull switch operating force to the pull cord and the oversurface of the top plate 5a of the luminaire body and prevents the luminaire body 5 from approaching the ceiling surface 1. Accordingly, there is no risk that the luminaire 3 becomes unstaggering, when the pull switch is operated nor will the operator have a sense of discomfort. This leads to preventing degradation of the strength resulting from repetitive load application to the ceiling mounting part of the luminaire caused by the luminaire 3 staggering.
