METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ADJUSTING CONVERGENCE OF PROJECTION TV

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for adjusting convergence in a projection TV are provided to be automatically executed. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for adjusting convergence in a projection TV includes a pattern generator(71) for adjusting convergence of the projection TV(12). The pattern generator(71) controls a white screen to be displayed on the projection TV(12) if the first control signal is received and controls a pattern for convergence adjustment to be displayed on the projection TV(12) if the second control signal is inputted. A CCD camera(72) picks up images displayed on the projection TV(12). An analog/digital converter(73) converts analog image signals from the CCD camera(72) into digital image signals. A controller(74) finds the size of the screen, the amount of convergence deviation and the location of deviation according to a built-in algorithm if the digital image signals are inputted and finds a convergence adjustment value corresponding to the color of the pattern for convergence adjustment, the amount of convergence deviation and the location of deviation. A remote transmitter(75) receives the adjustment value of convergence from the controller(74) to transmit it to a remote receiver of the projection TV(12) in order to adjust convergence.
