PURPOSE: A method for controlling a call receive in a broad band pager is provided to perform a setup of a receive channel easily, and to perform a region recognition control operation easily and quickly by using region shift confirmation data for transmitting a region code representing a region shift. CONSTITUTION: When a power is turned on, a CPU sets up an original registration region channel as a receiving channel(51,52). When a region shift confirmation data is detected(55), a region code in the region shift confirmation data is stored(57). And, it is decided whether a specific message data is existed in a message region or not, because the region shift confirmation data may be in a control data region(58). If there is the message data, an alarm is driven, and a present state is shifted into a receive standby state(60). If there is no message data, the present state is shifted into the receive standby state directly(60). It is decided whether a region shift is generated by receiving a call signal or not(61). If the region shift is generated, it is decided whether an operation mode of a broad band pager is an auto mode or a manual mode or not(57). When the operation mode of a broad band pager is the auto mode, the receive channel is changed, and a call signal receive is stood by in a region channel(66,67). At this time, the receive channel is the region channel pertinent to the region code of the stored region shift confirmation data. When the call signal receive is performed through a call change channel(68), the call change channel is set up as the receive channel because the region shift is finished(70).
