PURPOSE: An apparatus for adjusting battery charge is provided to prevent excessive discharge of a battery by detecting the degree of discharge of the battery and increasing the revolution number of an engine. CONSTITUTION: A hydrometer(2) is installed in a battery(1) to measure the specific gravity of an electrolyte. A negative pressure cylinder(4) and a cylinder rod(5) are connected with a throttle valve(3) to adjust the aperture ratio of the throttle valve(3). A negative pressure control unit receives a signal from the hydrometer(2) to adjust the negative pressure of an engine suction manifold provided to the negative pressure cylinder(4). The negative pressure control unit has a solenoid valve(6) for switching the atmospheric pressure and the negative pressure of the suction manifold, and a controller for receiving a signal from the hydrometer(2) for controlling the operation of the solenoid valve(6).
