PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate manufacturing with simple constitution by forming a projecting part linearly extending on one surface of a dielectric substrate and providing the dielectric block of a dielectric constant different from the substrate on the upper surface of the projecting part and a power feeding element at one end of the longitudinal direction of the projecting part. SOLUTION: A planar antenna is formed of a dielectric substrate 1, a linear projecting part 2 provided on the substrate upper surface, a dielectric block 3 of a dielectric constant different from the substrate, a power feeding element 4 for feeding power to the part 2 and a metallic conductor plate 5 covering the lower surface of the substrate 1. Power fed from the element 4 is waveguide into the part 2, distributed to the whole substrate 1 by a projecting part 2b, and waveguided in projecting parts 2a and 2c to reach each block 3 in the middle of a wave guide. Part of this reaching electromagnetic wave passes through the lower surface of the block 3 along the projecting parts 2a and 2c and the other part is radiated to the outside by the dielectric constant difference between the dielectric substrate 1 and the block 3. Electromagnetic wave which has passed through under the block 3 reach the next block 3 and repeat similar passing and radiation to radiate the electromagnetic waves from the whole of the upper surface to realize a high gain.
