PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a two-way transmitter that can reduce the power consumption of an output amplifier depending on an attenuation in a transmission line. SOLUTION: A multiplexer circuit 6 multiplexes correction gain data denoting a gain of G3 outputted from a demultiplexer circuit 20 with camera data outputted from a camera head 1 to generate a 1st transmission signal and the signal with the gain G3 added thereto is outputted to a triacs cable 3. An amplitude detection circuit 14 detects an amplitude C3 of the 1st transmission signal sent to a CCU 5 and the amplitude is given to a microcomputer 15 and the correction gain data denoting the gain G3 demultiplexed by a demultiplexer circuit 13 are also given to the microcomputer 15. The microcomputer 15 calculates a signal attenuation D3=(G3-C3) in the triacs cable 3 and compares it with table data of cable attenuation values prepared in advance inside to specify a cable length L and sets an optimum gain to gain variable amplifiers 9a, 9b, 9c, 18a, 18b, 18c in response to the length L.
