PURPOSE: A process for preparing a silane grafted polyolefin composition improved in crosslinking efficiency and storage stability using a pellet form carrier resin capable of impregnating silane in high concentrations is provided which can produce a resin having excellent dispersion, crosslinking degree, extrusion appearance and mechanical properties. CONSTITUTION: The process for preparing a silane grafted polyolefin composition comprises the steps of preparing a solid carrier resin impregnated a silane solution in a styrene thermoplastic elastomer having a styrene content of 25 to 50% by weight, the silane solution being dissolved 0.01 to 0.4 parts by weight of a free radical initiator in unsaturated silane represented by the formula; RR'SiY2 based on 100 parts by weight of the polyolefin; and melt-mixing the polyolefin resin and carrier resins. In formula, R is a monovalent polyolefin unsaturated group comprising carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, Y is a hydrolyzable free group, R' is a monovalent hydrocarbon containing no unsaturated aliphatic group or a hydrolyzable free group. |
