VERSION CORRECTING CONTROL SYSTEM FOR EEPROM OF VCR

PURPOSE: A version modification control system in a VCR is provided to allow a VCR set manufacturer to store or modify a program and data that must be written in a system memory via a communication port on a VCR's side from a personal computer. CONSTITUTION: A version modification control system in a VCR includes a program personal computer(2) for writing a program at an EEPROM memory(13) of a VCR unit(1) via a communication port(12) in the VCR unit(1) or transferring a modified program data to a user; side computer(34) via a telephone network(31) of a data communication unit(3). The VCR unit(1) includes the communication port(12) for communication connection with the program personal computer(2), a microprocessor(11) for processing VCR control data and the EEPROM memory(13) for storing the VCR control program data. A user' side personal computer(33) receives the program data for modifying the VCR(34) via the telephone network(31) and a communication interface(32) from the program personal computer(2).
