PURPOSE: A field emission display is provided to give a high brightness equal to braun tube by projecting photoemission by a high field strength on a front substrate. CONSTITUTION: A cathode(K) which is connected with an emitter(E) and an anode(A) which is formed with a phosphor is arranged in a cross opposite on two substrate(P1,P2) and is controlled by a gate(G). A visible ray emitted from a fluorescent layer is projected directly to a front substrate(P1) by arranging the cathode(K) and the emitter(E) on the front substrate(P1). An electrostatic layer(L) which a high voltage positive charge is licensed is equipped with the rear side of the anode(A) leaving dielectric layer(D) between these. The electrostatic layer(L) is composed forming a metal layer at the rear substrate(P2). The metal layer is deposited with Al.
