METHOD FOR CONNECTING ASYNCHRONOUS TRANSFER MODE POINT-TO-MULTIPOINT IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for connecting an asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) point-to multipoint in a mobile communication system is provided to generate information for connecting the ATM to register a multi transmitting group discriminator to a multi transmitting group managing region of each ATM terminal, and to set up a terminal which copies ATM cells for each ATM terminal to transmit the information through a determined connection, so as to minimize network load to raise a transmitting efficiency of the network by using an ATM protocol. CONSTITUTION: If many ATM terminals exist in a destination transmitting the same information, the ATM terminals generate information for an ATM connection. The ATM terminals register a multi transmitting group discriminator corresponding to the information to multi transmitting group managing regions of each ATM terminal, and set up an ATM terminal which copies ATM cells. If the ATM connection is set up, the ATM terminals transmit the information through a determined connection.
