PURPOSE: An installation method for a steering column shaft is provided to save an assembling time and to enhance productivity by modulating the steering column shaft including a crash pad before an installation. CONSTITUTION: To install a steering column shaft, a lower plate(22) is combined with a steering column shaft(12) by a bolt and an upper plate(20) is welded into the lower plate. Then, a connecting plate(24) is welded into the upper face of the upper plate and a crash pad(10) is combined with the steering column shaft to be modulated. An installation hole(26) is formed on the front face of a cowl box(14) and the connecting plate is stuck to the rear face of the cowl box. After that, the connecting plate is combined with the cowl box through the hole.
