PURPOSE: A running maintaining method in case of TPS(Throttle Position Sensor) failure is provided to maintain the engine operation normally by controlling a fuel injection amount through the control of a fuel shutoff solenoid according to an intake air amount if the TPS is abnormal. CONSTITUTION: A running maintaining method in case of TPS failure includes the steps of determining whether a TPS is abnormal according to a voltage value detected from the TPS(S101), determining whether an intake air sensor and an intake temperature sensor are abnormal according to voltages applied from the intake air sensor and the intake temperature sensor if the TPS is abnormal(S104), detecting an intake air amount by analyzing signals applied from the intake air sensor and the intake temperature sensor if both sensors are normal(S105,S106), and controlling a fuel injection amount by controlling a fuel shutoff solenoid according to the detected air amount(S108,S109).
