PURPOSE: A tension control device of a magnetic recording player is provided to measure a tape tension by a sensor, and to electrically control a tension member driver. Therefore, it is possible to automatically control the tape tension. CONSTITUTION: A tape authorizer endows a tension to a tape(T). A tension sensor senses the tension of the tape(T). A friction member(10) supplies a friction force to a supply reel(9). A rotary actuator varies the friction member(10), and controls a brake power of the supply reel(9). A controller controls the rotary actuator according to a sense signal of the tension sensor, and controls a brake power.
