PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make readable an electrostatic latent image without using any TFT and laser scanning system in a radiation image recording/reading device using a radiation solid detector. SOLUTION: The detector 10 is used, which is formed by laminating a first stripe electrode 12, a photoconductive layer 13 for recording that shows conductivity by receiving the illumination of recording light 12, a photoconductive layer 14 for preexposure that shows conductivity by receiving the illumination of preexposure light L3, and a second stripe electrode 16. Each element 12a of the first stripe electrode 12 and each element 16a of the second stripe electrode 16 are arranged orthogonally to each other. The preexposure light L3 is uniformly cast from the side of the second stripe electrode 16 for accumulating uniform electric charge at a rechargeable part 19, then the recording light L2 is applied from the side of the first stripe electrode 12, and the latent image electric charge at the rechargeable part 19 is extinguished according to dose. On reading, the elements 12a are successively connected to the elements 16a one by one, and a discharge current is detected by a current detection amplification part 71.
