PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the detailed setting of the environment for a household device for every user in a home network system. SOLUTION: A host computer 3 of this home network system includes a communication device 35 which communicates with a household device installed in a house, a storage 32 which stores the device setting data to set the operating environment data on the household device for every user, a personal data table which stores the user information to operate the household device, a personal authentication part 42 which authenticates the user by means of the inputted personal information and the personal information of the personal data table, an environment setting part 43 which sets the authentication result of the part 42 and the operating environment data on every household device set by the authenticated user as the device setting data for every user and a controller 34 which controls the operation of the household device according to the set device setting data.
