PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously and easily rewrite operation software(OS) even at a distant place by rewriting the OS through a center side host computer while using an adapter net-connectable with a portable terminal packaging a flash memory. SOLUTION: This method is composed of a host computer 1, a net server 2, plural adapters 3 connected by a net line and portable terminals 4 packaged in these adapters. The portable terminal 4 of each terminal is set to the adapter 3. A download mode of the OS from the line is set by operating the portable terminal 4 of each terminal. The OS to be corrected from the host computer 1 is transmitted to the net line. When directly writing the OS in the portable terminal 4, rewritten OS data are transmitted to the portable terminal 4 by a dedicated data transfer procedure. In the case of preservation onto the hard disk of the terminal, the data are preserved as a file.
