PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to execute high-density information recording and to easily execute reproduction of high-density recording information with simple means by reading out the difference in a crystalline state or crystalline phase or component material as a difference in surface potential or surface charge density and executing the reading out of the recording information of a medium. SOLUTION: A phase transition type recording disk (CD-RW disk) having recording layer of an In-Ag-Te-Sb-base composition is subjected to signal recording by a CD-RW drive assembly. Next, the dielectric layer, reflection layer and resin protective layer existing on the recording layer are peeled to expose the recording layer surface and the surface potential distribution patterns are made into images, by which the images shown in Fig. are obtained. The regions where lightness high are the regions where the surface potential is high and approximately completely coincide with the amorphous recording marks. For example, the surface potential difference between the amorphous recording marks and the other regions is 50 mV and the electrostatic capacity difference is 3×1010μF. As a result, the high-density information recording and the reproducing of the high-density recording information are made possible. |
