PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a display device containing a liquid crystal alignment layer having excellent heat resistance and photosensitivity by constituting the device of first and second substrate, an alignment layer containing polyethylene imine formed on one substrate of the first and second substrates, and a liquid crystal layer formed between the first and second substrates. SOLUTION: The device consists of first and second substrates, an alignment layer containing polyethylene imine formed on at least one substrate of the first and second substrates, and a liquid crystal layer formed between the first and second substrates. The polyethylene imine is expressed by formula I. In formula I, R1 is expressed by formula II, each of R2 to R5 is selected from the group of H, F, Cl, CN, NO2, CF3, OCF3 or the like, m ranges 10 to 10000. In formula II, each of X1 X2 is independently selected the group of H, F, Cl, CN, NO2, CH3, Fx (x=0 to 3), and k is 0 to 1, Y is selected from the group of H, F, Cl, CN, NO2, CF3 or the like. |
