PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a viewer to delete an optional part of a program on the basis of a video data stream by deciding 1st and 2nd optional edit point in a series of video data unit selected in response to 1st and 2nd entries by a user and omitting video data included between the 1st and 2nd optional edit points. SOLUTION: Micro cells used for control are generated under a prescribed boundary condition and stored in a secondary table. For example, in the case that points A, B are in different cells, a start point A 111 is in a cell 110 and a stop point B 113 is in a cell 112. A micro controller generates micro cells 114, 116 in response to the entry of the user. A start boundary of the micro cell 114 corresponds to the start boundary of the cell 110 and a stop boundary is at the start point A111, and a start boundary of the micro cell 116 is at the stop point B 113 and a stop boundary corresponds to the stop boundary of the cell 112.
