PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to measure an amount of abrasion of a pantograph sliding plate of a train using only one abrasion measuring system even when a train runs on a rail road branched in two or more sections. SOLUTION: An abrasion measuring system includes an abrasion detecting unit 1 put above a stringing 2 on a branched railroad, on which a train runs, for measuring an amount of abrasion of a sliding plate by using a plurality of distance measuring units and measuring a distance of the pantograph sliding plate of the train running on the railroad, a sliding unit 6 for supporting the abrasion detecting unit 1 in a direction almost across the railroad freely, and driving units 7 and 8 for shifting the abrasion detecting unit 1. In this case, the abrasion detecting unit 1 can be shifted to at least two positions to measure the amount of abrasion.
