PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a layout with satisfactory handleability, at photographing, when using an image display device of a side light type. SOLUTION: This electronic camera is provided with an optical finder 40, that optically delivers an object image from the front face to the rear face of a camera main body 11 and with an LCD display section 50 that displays an image on the basis of image data, and has a nearly flat outer shape, the flat plane of which is placed in parallel with the rear face of the camera main body 11. Then the optical finder 40 has a step difference part at its part which includes an eyepiece section 44, and an end of the LCD display section 50 is inserted to a space by the step difference part.
