PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To early detect leakage of water at the ice-making part of an auger ice-making machine. SOLUTION: An ice machine comprises an ice-making mechanism 10; a refrigerating mechanism to cool the ice-making part 10a by supplying a cooling refrigerant to the ice-making part 10a of the ice-making mechanism 10; a water storage tank 17 to store water for ice making fed to the ice-making part 10a: and a water amount detecting means 19b (32) to detect a water storage amount of the water tank 17. At the starting of ice-making operation, a given amount of water for ice making is ensured in the water storage tank 17 and after a lapse of a given time, a storage water amount in the water storage tank 17 is detected. When the water storage amount of the water storage tank 17 is below a given amount, it is decided that leakage of water for ice-making occurs.
