The invention discloses an apparatus for attachment to a portable conveyor to enable an operator to more easily manually move the conveyor. The apparatus comprises a first mating means, such as a socket; means to mount the socket on a lower portion of the conveyor; a second mating, such as an elongate handle, engageable with the socket such it is maintained in a substantially horizontal position at a point above the ground. The handle may be used to lift, as well as push, pull and steer the conveyor. an insulating handle may be supplied to reduce injury risk from over-head power lines.
