PURPOSE: A remote controller having a bar code recognition function is provided for allocating various functions to one bar code, providing a bar code recognition function to a remote controller, selecting a user's desired function, accessing a remote controller having the bar code recognition function to a bar code having various functions without operating a key of the remote controller, so that a user's desired function is easily performed. CONSTITUTION: A key(11) is provided in a remote controller for performing a function that a user wants to perform. A code generator(13) receives a key signal and converts into a corresponding code. A modulation/amplifier(14) receives a code converted by the code generator(13), modulates and amplifies the code and applies to an infrared ray transmitter(15). An infrared ray transmitter(15) receives a signal from the modulation/amplifier(14) and transmits to a remote controller receiver. A bar code recognition unit(100) reads a bar code of a function selected by a user among various functions applied to the bar code board and recognizes the read code.
