SCLERA EXPANDING DEVICE FOR PRESBYOPIA SURGERY AND METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A sclera expanding device for presbyopia surgery and method for making the same are provided to expand a distance between a ciliary body and a crystalline lens in order to tense a ciliary zonule by inserting the device into a sclera of an eye at the time of a surgery for medical treatment of a presbyopic eye. CONSTITUTION: In a sclera expanding device for presbyopia surgery and method for making the same, the method for making the sclera expanding device is characterized in that a mold of the sclera expanding device is firstly made from a resin prepared by mixing a synthetic resin and a water soluble material and then the mold of the device is formed with fine openings by extracting the soluble material from the mold by aid of distilled water under the action of ultrasonic wave. The sclera expanding device is a mold of synthetic resin, which consists of a curved inner surface(1) with a predetermined curvature radius, an outer surface, and corners(3, 3'). On the mold, fine openings are provided at random.
