PURPOSE: A control method for the shifting of an automatic transmission for a vehicle is provided to improve the performance of shifting and ride comfortableness by reducing a shock generated at the end of the shifting. CONSTITUTION: A shifting signal of D-R is inputted. First and second pressure control solenoid valves(PCSV-A,B) control duty. The second pressure control solenoid valve keeps 0% of duty. The first pressure control solenoid valve is controlled to 0% of clip duty. After a certain fill time passes by, the duty is increased to Da and controlled to a certain reducing inclination. A transmission lever detects the time of staying in an N range. The detected time satisfies a certain condition so that a target backup point is outputted. When a turbine change rate reaches the target backup point, the duty is increased to Da1 and controlled to a second reducing inclination. Then a shifting shock is decreased.
