PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit only watermark data from not being removed efficiently as long as a password is unknown by enciphering watermark data, to which an error detecting code is added and embedding enciphered watermark data by means of a different embedding method. SOLUTION: Watermark data is transmitted to an enciphering mans 2, after adding the error detecting code to it by an error detecting code adding means 1 and enciphered, based on the password which is inputted by a user. Enciphered watermark data after adding the error detecting code is embedded into contents data, based on the method selected by a selector 3 among watermark embedding methods which are multiply defined by N pieces of encoders 4. Thus, contents data where watermark data are embedded are distributed by a recording medium 100 and transmitted by a transmitting means 102. |
