<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave power sensor of a true average and broad dynamic range. SOLUTION: The power level of a high frequency signal received by high frequency signal input 18 is detected by sensor diode means D1, D2 operating in a square-root law region. A changeover-shaped attenuator means 12 operating so that the high frequency signal goes through a lower loss passage 14 in a lower power range and it goes through a second attenuation passage 16 in a higher power range is provided. Because a passage is selected depending on whether the power level of the received high frequency signal exceeds a range of the lower power level and a sensor diode means always operates in the square-root law region, power of the received high frequency signal is accurately measured in a broad dynamic range.</p> |
