PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify repair by suppressing the adhesion of contaminations to a heating tank. SOLUTION: In a humidifier provided with a water supply tank 7 and a heating tank 17 made of a synthetic resin to heat water supplied from the water supply tank 7, an electromagnetic induction coil 21 is situated at the outside of the heating tank 17. A heat generating body 22 formed of a magnetic substance material having a given area to the bottom of the heating tank 17 is situated in the heating tank 17. Water in the heating tank 17 is heated by the resistance heat of an induction eddy current generated at the heat generating body 22 by the electromagnetic induction coil 21. Contaminants due to deposition of impurities, for example, a mineral content such as calcium and magnesium contained in water, are adhered mainly to the heat generating body 2 the temperature of which is increased to a high value.
