PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a problem, which occurs when there is an opposite request before executing operation, when there is a power source ON or OFF request by providing a means for issuing a power source OFF request signal, a power source ON request signal and a state priority request signal. SOLUTION: When state priority requests are received from host computers 201a and 201b, a priority signal for selecting whether power source ON is to be continued (ON priority) or a power source is to be turned off (OFF priority) is outputted from an I/O 208 to a power source control part 212 when there is a power source ON request before actually turning off the power source of a printer 203 after the power source OFF request. On the basis of input conditions, the power source control part 212 outputs a power source control signal to a power source circuit 213. In this case, when an ON/OFF priority request indicates ON priority, the device is operated for continuously turning on the power source of the printer 203. This processing program is stored in a ROM 205 and executed under the control of a CPU 204. |
