PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-life organic electroluminescent element maintaining stable light emitting characteristics by preventing an oxygen and a moisture from being entered. SOLUTION: In an organic electroluminescent element wherein an electroluminescent laminated layer structural body constituted by sandwiching an organic layer 3 containing a luminous layer between a positive electrode 2 and a negative electrode 4 facing each other is disposed on the surface of a transparent substrate 1, an insulating-oxygen moisture reactive double layer 12 is disposed on a part of the positive electrode 2 of the electroluminescent laminated layer structural body, the organic layer 3 containing the luminous layer and the negative electrode 4 so as to cover an insulating layer 5, the insulating-oxygen moisture reactive double layer 12 is constituted of at least one of an oxygen moisture reactive layer 6 and the insulating layer 5 not to react to a metal having a conductivity of 10-14 S/m or under and a poling electronegativity less than 1.2. The electroluminescent laminated layer structural body and the insulating-oxygen moisture reactive double layer 12 are interposed with a reaction preventing layer 10 or with the reaction preventing layer 10 and a positive electrode insulating layer 11 and are covered and sealed by a resin layer 8. |
