PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent mis-connection of cables of same kinds and same shape and to easily increase the number of cables processed through connection confirmation by optionally changing assignment of a specific time slot to each line and revising each ID number. SOLUTION: In this detection system, an integration section (10-1) of a firmware 10 conducts detection start, stop, end, management data control and result report control to a terminal 8 on the basis of information from the terminal 8. A data arithmetic function control section (10-2) manages and makes arithmetic operations of each ID number and data with respect to units 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A. A TS data INS section (10-3)/TS data DROP section (10-4) applies INS/DROP processing to a specific TS. An opposite device 6B processes data sent from the firmware 10 of its own device 6A and its own device 6A confirms a cable connection state on the basis of returned data.
