PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart a release characteristic to make the sticking of other adhesive labels, adhesive tapes, etc., to a surface difficult to a label for display having a reversible thermosensitive recording layer, to impart stainproofness of making the adhesion of oily ink, coating materials, oil, mud, etc., to the label surface difficult and to impart a function to allow the exact display of information and the exact display of the information by rewriting to a transporting container. SOLUTION: The label for display is obtained by providing one surface of a base material 2 for the label consisting of polyethylene terephthalate, etc., with the thermosensitive recording layer 1, which is prepared by dispersing a reversible thermosensitive recording material into a translucent resin base material 1, by coating to a thickness of about 10μm, providing the rear surface of the base material 2 with an adhesive layer 3 for sticking consisting of an adhesive, etc., and providing the front surface with a prescribed stainproof film 5. The stainproof film 5 is disposed by applying a material which consists of a resin having translucency and release property and in which preferably a release agent and particulates of 1 to 50μm in average grain size are mixed with the light transparent synthetic resin on the front surface of the base material, thereby roughening the front surface to a satin form.
