PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a best filling method of a separating agent when the separating agent with a small grain size is filled into a column with a large aperture, in a movable plug-type liquid chromatography. SOLUTION: In this separating-agent filling method for a column for liquid chromatography, a shell 3 is installed in a stage 1 of a filling device, separating agent slurry is injected into the shell, a movable plug 4 is dropped with a pressurizing means to pressurize the separating agent slurry, the drop of the movable plug 4 is stopped after discharge of solvent from a flow passage is confirmed, the flow passage is connected to a solvent pressurizing means, the solvent is injected with the solvent pressurizing means and simultaneously the movable plug 4 is dropped by the pressurizing means to discharge the solvent from the flow passage of a shell, and the movable plug is fixed at a stopping position of the drop of the movable plug 4.
