PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring apparatus by which the bead width of a tire can be measured precisely and to precisely measure the dynamic unbalance of the tire by a tire testing machine by a method wherein the tire is mounted on the upper rim and the lower rim at a rim width which is set in advance with reference to the measured and obtained bead width. SOLUTION: A conveyance device 9 which conveys a tire 2 to a prescribed conveyance direction 14 in a state that the tire 2 is laid down on a conveyance face 13 is provided. A stopping device 10 which stops the movement of the tire 2 being conveyed is provided. A tire-width measuring part 12 which measures the width W of the tire 2 whose movement is stopped is provided. A bead-height measuring part 11 which measures the height A from the conveyance face 13 up to the upper bead part 6 of the tire 2 is provided. A bead-width calculation means by which the bead width B as the interval between the upper bead part 6 and the lower bead part 7 of the tire 2 is calculated on the basis of information on the measured and obtained tire width W and information on the height A of the upper bead part 6 is provided.
