PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a display device which is of a simple structure, which is manufactured easily, in which the luminance of a dial can be made uniform and in which the high luminance of the dial can be achieved. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a flat boardlike light guide body 2. The device is provided with a dial 3 which is composed of a transparent body with a required display printed and which is laminated and arranged on the surface side of the light guide body 2. The device is provided with a light source 4 which is irradiated from the side part at the end face of the light guide body 2 and by which the dial 3 is surface-emitted via the light guide body 2. In addition, a very small joint is formed on the whole face on the rear side of the light guide body 2 or a coating by a printing ink, a paint, a hot stamp or the like whose transmittance of light is low and whose reflectance is high is formed so as to execute a high-reflection treatment 7. Light inside the light guide body 2 is reflected with good efficiency in a part in which the high-reflection treatment 7 is executed, and it is propagated thoroughly inside the light guide body 2.
